About the role
We seek a trainee accountant to join the team at Spotlight. Whilst starting as a junior accountant this position is a pathway to potentially become a fully qualified chartered accountant managing your own portfolio of clients.
Within the first 12 months this position will involve:
- Preparation of accounts from incomplete records
- Preparation of year end working papers for review
- Book-keeping both for clients and the firm
- VAT return preparation
- Basic payroll preparation
Initially the role will involve tasks appropriate to a junior position these will include administrative tasks such as marketing support, data entry, dealing with post, client emails and telephone calls.
We are a tech focussed firm that is also an ICAEW authorised training employer who will provide on the job training and full study support. To get the most out of the training this role will be office based.
We will provide study support initially towards your AAT qualification or the ICAEW certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business, then look to start ICAEW.
Requirements
- 5 or more GCSE’s between grade 9-5 (A*-C), and 2 or more A levels between grades 9-5 (A*-C)
- Hours initially will be 9-5 Monday to Friday, then once established we offer flexible working patterns can be arranged
